This was taken a few years back in a landscape in the Bullard area best I remember. I love the form and color.

Dewberry blooms

I'm seeing dewberry blooms along the fence lines.
Best I can recall they should be ripe in mid to late April.
The drought will have surely had an effect.

Spring 2011 Northeast Texas

On February 24 I saw wild plums blooming for the first time this year. Today February 27 I noted the first redbud blooms of the season. Ornamental pears and oriental magnolia blooms are also appearing in the landscape.

This was the first day of 2010 I have noticed redbud blooms.

Snow Covered The Woodlands

Growing up in the southern U.S. I've seen few days like this. There was 6 inches of snow. We had little damage to the timber, not at all like the ice storms we some times get. I got an e-mail from a friend from Liberia who reported taking part in his first snowball fight. He is in Macon, Georgia.

First Bluets of 2010

This morning as I walked the woodland trails I saw Bluets blooming for the first time in 2010.
I have grown to like those little blooms. I suppose for the first 50 years of my life I just walked right over them. Now I they are always admired.
